My recent experience doing Darkwebathon I was given the opportunity to do Fortinet training. The Fortinet NSE Training includes a full academy of courses and goes from Level 1 to Level 8, and they also have courses on topics like Information Security Awareness and The Evolution of Cybersecurity.

The courses are rated from Awareness to Expert, with NSE 1–3 targetted at everyone and making up the Cybersecurity Awareness Certification. As the author of the training is Fortinet there is of course a special focus on the Fortinet solutions to the cybersecurity challenges discussed, but this is to be expected and reads nicely as part of the training (rather than a sales pitch as some companies do).

NSE 4–6 comprises the Cybersecurity Technical Certification which is targetted at Network Security Administrators, Tech Support Engineers and System Engineers. NSE 7 is the Cybersecurity Advanced Certification and NSE 8 the Cybersecurity Expert Certification.

I want to congratulate Fortinet in putting together a great free training entry-level training package. Using a familiar Moodle interface it was relatively easy to use and navigate.

I was quite happy to complete NSE 1 Certification in Dec 2021, NSE 2 Certification in Jan 2022, and I plan to complete NSE 3 in 2022.

For me NSE 4 and beyond is something I would focus on, if I were working for a company, or trying to get a position with a company using a Fortigate device or Fortinet solutions in a corporate setting.

You can sign up for their training here: https://training.fortinet.com/
